Get the FRIED SHRIMP w/ CHEESE & the CRISPY PORK CHOP !!!! Not sure what maniac decided to fry cheese and shrimp, but it is amazing. Also the crispy pork chop is perfectly seasoned with onions, red and green peppers. AMAZING !

This place is definitely underrated! Good food! We got the crispy pork, salted fish / chicken fried rice (which was probably my favorite), Chinese broccoli with garlic, and the combination chow mein! The owner was very friendly and provided good service.

I love the wonton soup and fried rice. The egg rolls are fire too! The vibe is chill with the essence of a hole in the wall.

When I visit this restaurant, I always order the rice cake omelette with egg, crispy egg noodles, and salt and pepper squid. For Father's Day, I got these dishes again, and they were just as good. The crispy egg noodles were perfectly crunchy, especially with some chili oil. The rice cake omelette wasn't too greasy, and the salt and pepper squid, though not as crispy as I'd like, was still tasty. The food came out quickly, the staff were nice, and the atmosphere was relaxed with plenty of seating.

This is one of those places I really want to gatekeep, but they are a small business and deserve all the love. I met the most friendly business owner ever. We came on the weekend, and it was not packed at all. We ordered some seafood dishes, and we are so in love with the way the dishes tasted. It's reminiscent of childhood dishes that we grew up on. It's very straightforward - no gimmick.

You must try the Banh Bot Chien (rice cake omelet) at Dong Hai. It's a super simple dish but delicious. Sadly, I missed getting a picture before we destroyed it but it's tender blocks of rice cake in an omelet with scallions and a soy dipping sauce. This is the only place in DFW where I have seen that dish so definitely give it try if you come here. We also ordered the wonton soup, beef flat noodles, fried shrimp and squid, and water spinach with garlic. Everything was a hit with our table of discerning foodies. Wonton Soup - 4.5 stars - Surprisingly good. The broth was clear and flavorful. Beef Flat Noodle - 4 stars - Very solid but perhaps the least special out of the dishes we ordered. Fried shrimp & squid - 4 stars - not too greasy and the batter coating was thin and crispy. Water spinach with garlic - 4.5 stars - another simple but delicious dish.
